It might seem like no biggie when Miley chants about it in her song but there definitely is a harsh and dangerous reality to the party pill!
After 2 deaths and 4 hospitalizations, New York City’s Electric Zoo music festival shutdown the event after it’s 2nd night! The 3 day music fest released a statement on it’s website stating – “the founders of Electric Zoo send our deepest condolences to the families of the two people who passed away this weekend. Because there is nothing more important to us than our patrons, we have decided in consultation with the New York City Parks Department that there will be no show today.”
It is believed that the cause of death and hospitalizations involved the use of the infamous drug Molly! The event also allegedly ran out of water! Can you imagine no water?? We hope they at least had a plethora of gum! Read more about the incident and the drug HERE!
As of yesterday the Las Vegas Welcome Sign traded in it’s 89 boring yellow lights surrounding the iconic sign for some more colorful and fabulous lights representing the colors of PRIDE!
Thanks to the Southern Nevada Association of Pride, the Human Rights Campaign and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the welcome sign will remain colorfully lit for 11 days straight, no pun intended, to commemorate Las Vegas Pride Week and also in celebration of Vegas Pride’s 30 year anniversary! Awww that’s so cool and nice!
Can’t wait to go out and take some selfies with the colorful and prideful welcome sign!
AND WE THOUGHT KRAVE WAS GONNA HAVE THE WORST WEEK EVER :-/
Given his Pro-Strike comments and statements that the Prez. has made the past few days, his decision to make a strike on Syria doesn’t surprise us but none-the-less hearing his confirmation makes it all too real.
Earlier today Obama spoke to the public at The White House to announce that he has officially decided to take military action on Syria for their alleged use of chemical weapons on their civilians resulting in the deaths of hundreds including children.
While the Prez has made his decision and believes that he has “the authority to carry out this military action without specific congressional authorization,” he also stated, “I know that the country will be stronger if we take this course and our actions will be even more effective.”
Congress will begin to deliberate on Obama’s decision once they return from their summer recess on September 9th. If the British Prime Minister David Cameron’s lack of support from the House of Commons is any indication of what the U.S. Congress might decide, than the question is – Will Obama move forward with the strike regardless of U.S. Congress approval?
Today the IRS and The U.S. Department of the Treasury released a statement ruling that beginning September 16, 2013 “all same-sex couples, legally married in jurisdictions that recognize their marriages, will be treated as marred for federal tax purposes.”
In regards to the ruling, Secretary of the Treasury – Jacob J. Lewis commented, “Today’s ruling provides access to benefits, responsibilities and protections under federal tax law that all Americans deserve…This ruling also assures legally married same-sex couples that they can move freely throughout the country knowing that their federal filling status will not change.”
Yay! How exciting! Read the full statement by The U.S. Department of the Treasury HERE!
